Aliya Bora is a multimedia storyteller who loves working on projects that combine her skills in media and design. She recently served as an NBC News Fellow on the CNBC shows Squawk on the Street and Squawk Alley. Aliya was one of four people in the country selected for the exclusive fellowship with NBC Universal.

Previously, Aliya worked as a freelance news writer and segment producer for FOX 5 San Diego (KSWB-TV) and recently completed her Master’s Degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Aliya graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Neurobiology. She worked in healthcare market research before transitioning into media.

Aliya earned scholarships from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Asian American Journalists Association to complete her studies in broadcast media. She is a proud graduate of San Diego City College’s Newscene and Graphic Design programs. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, yoga, making paper crafts and reading.
